*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

Both OcUK guilds are going for PvP servers, i assume McDaniel's mention of PvE means his guild is going for PvE servers.

Not sure why people are so scared of PVP servers, so you get ganked a few times, that's why you have your guildies to help you and gank back.

I thought the ocuk Republic guild one was PVE, that explains it then...

I'm guessing EA were forcing them to release it this year and they needed as much time to get ready so they put it a few days before Christmas. Not brilliant but atleast it is being released!

EDIT: Wab, how high up are you in The Immortals? Would the Immortals be interested in having Black Sun Pirates as adversaries so we could get on the same server as you guys?

Lets say I can quite safely make any decision for The Immortals ;), and I did ask you about 20 pages back if you wanted to but never got a reply

My thoughts exactly, i've always seen world PvP as a part of any MMO - makes the game all the more tense.
Being ganked is fun, it makes revenge oh so satisfying.

About the OcUK guilds. The Republic guild I am in has only 3 members so far. Do people really intend on rolling only Empire? Then we have The Immortals on here, not sure if they call themselves the OcUK Republic guild, but they are doing VERY well with members. In short, there needs to be something sorted out here because I want to roll with a bunch of nice guys from this here OcUK forum but on the Republic side! :P

Don't get mad on your power mate :p Sorry I must have completely missed it. That sounds good, would be nice for our sith guild to have some victims ;) If you add Black Sun Pirates as adversaries and hopefully somebody in BSP will go the same(I can't as I'm in BtC and Hudbox hasn't been active since the 7th of October but hopefully somebody should be able to)

I'm not entirely sure what is going to happen, clearly very few people on these forums want to play Republic PvP so I think I might just disband the OcUK Republic guild. If you want to play Republic PvP then join the Immortals if you want to play Republic PvE then there is one set up I believe that you can join(I think the link is on the previous page). Or you could switch to the Sith and join Black Sun Pirates, the choice is yours mate.

It's a shame because there was a fairly balanced split between Republic and Sith on the forums before we could set up guilds however everybody seems to have switched over to the dark side of the force...And I guess I'l have to follow them.

Matt what is stopping you from waiting until the game is released and joining the same server and then starting the guild?

I don't understand this adversaries thing and matching guilds to join the same server.

Basically any guilds with over 4~(Think it is 4) players who have pre-ordered the game will get put into servers based on their choices. By selecting adversaries and allies you can make it more likely that your guild ends up on the same server as that guild.

So if you are in a guild and want to play against a specific guild on launch you put them as adversaries and then you should both get on the same server.

That is what Bioware say, I have no idea how it will end up on release.

Some NPC character transition from early beta to final stages.

Also this is the first time we have seen dark side alignment effect facial appearance.

I'm not sure that's what it is.

Pretty sure you could customize your character to look like that from the start.
I can't remember what the option was called, but it gave different skin tones/marks etc. Definitely seen that face design in the character customization screen.

Well its circulating the forums as "proof"

Who knows, we'll soon see.

No we have never called ourselves the ocuk guild,(we being going a lot longer than I have being on this site ;)) saying that this is the only place I advertise for players as most are more mature, I think we have about 11 people from here in the guild, but the only name I can think of is Dist.

We being around a long time and have being in a lot of MMO's as a guild, but the one thing I think that has always kept us going is we open to new people, anyone and everyone joining has the same chance to fit into the guild at any level that suits them, we not a clicky guild and we work hard at not being one, in other words there is no inner circle. Thats one of the reason I think we have being going so long, its the players choice just how much they want to do in the guild or how little.

I'm sure with all the new players we gonna have as many nice guys as not, but time will tell how players fit.

We do have a recruitment thread on sw.tor, but we never approach players in the LFG thread, think we have picked up a awful lot from Ideal Guild Quiz, its a very good tool and if the ocuk guild is not with them I would recommend they join, its works well for guilds and its great if you looking for a guild, well as long as the leader who set up their guilds have being honest.

As to getting allies and adversaries I think its very very important to get it right, wait till you in game and may find all the decent server full, or even worse get stuck with one of the big Russian guilds, not got anting against them, but any servers they on tends to suffer, not a nice fact but a fact none the less.

I know I would rather get to choose the 15/20 guilds I wanna be on server with than have it done for me, and remember its chain linked, so even if you choose me, and I don't choose you, still a very good chance we on the same server, we have about 12 guilds who have us as adversaries and about 14 as allies.

And the quicker the better as I believe they going to stagger Early Access, if you looking to join a Republic guild we still taking on members, The Immortals, think we about the 4/5th biggest guild of our type (UK/EU PvP), tho a large portion are all new members and we will shed a lot I think in the first 3 months till the guild settles with the players who fit. We being going about 10 years so we pretty much know after a while who will fit, but we give everyone at least 3 months to settle in before we decide.

More info:
Our Swtor page, and Recruitment Video.
Either way GL and get that early access code in A.S.A.P :D

I'm going to get this now so i'll drop an app in mate, need to say anything special?
