***Official - Super Mario Odyssey Thread!*** NO SPOILERS

Played this for the first time today. 140 moons later

All I can say is, what a game. I'm a long way off finishing it but I know I'll be gutted when I do.

I can't believe how many Moons there are in this game.

I completed the main story and thought "Time to mop up the last few Moons and then sell the game on". I had something like 250 moons. I think I'm at about 300 now. Can't see myself getting all of them; I'll probably just do a last playthrough of each world, get what I can, and then call it a day. There's already some that I really can't be bothered with.

I got all of the moons. I'm glad it's finished but none of them except for a few on the secret worlds at the end were difficult to get.

Saying that I did have to look up three in total as I missed one of the paintings (Metro City), I wasn't sure if the way I was trying to get a moon was possible (east pillar in the desert needed waggle controls to get it easily) and the hint moons were dull as dish water.

I won't be touching the game again but it is a nice return (almost) to form. I place it below Bros 3, World, 64 and Galaxy 1/2 but only just.

420 moons. None of them purchased. That's enough for me. Going to trade it in at Game tomorrow (£36) and get Mario Kart.

The only thing I didn't enjoy about the game is all that waggle nonsense. Makes playing the game in handheld mode a pain.

Are you not interested in playing the final level?

Oh man all those moons - you must have kicked yourself on the Metro City painting...

IIRC that’s right at the very very start of the level?

Just goes to show it really is a needle in a haystack to find all the bits and it’s just rather unfortunate if you don’t see things the first time. Deffo wouldn’t have been worth your time finding it manually so I certainly wouldn’t feel ‘defeated’ that you had to check.

Think I stopped around 460.

I'm not bothered at all about needing to look up 3 of the moons. Life is too short to comb through the entire game to find that single missing thing you're looking for, and likewise people should stop when they are no longer enjoying the game.

One of my favourit moons...

Peaches castle, looking up to the ceiling Mario 64 style! :D That was a nice touch, made me grin a lot!

The Balloon World mini-game along with additional outfits will be available with a free update tomorrow.

I'll definitely give it a good go, any excuse to play more Odyssey!.

I think I read recently that they're considering additional DLC for the game too.

I'm not at all interested in the balloon hunt stuff but if they made a Mars DLC pack or similar I'd definitely get that.

Mars :D

If there ends up being DLC, maybe Isle Delfino is more likely. The Sunshine Outfit they just added could be hinting further towards it but who knows.

I've been enjoying Balloon World, though some people have been using glitches to hide balloons in walls which ruins it a bit. There are only a handful of instances and you can avoid them once you know the locations but it's still annoying.

Balloon World is nice addition though, as a casual experience it's simply hide & seek but on a higher level it's almost like a mini-speedrun creator because of the time limits. It can be quite addictive if you're into the more advanced side of the movement mechanics and traversal.

Here are my codes if anyone wants to give them a try :)

It'll be interesting to see which is popped last as I put some effort into making most of them tricky. Although, I'm not sure how the time system works exactly - it might give the seeker some additional seconds to find the balloon.

If someone here does try either the Mushroom Kingdom, Bowser or Luncheon Kingdom ones, I'd be interested to know how much time it gives you.
