Exactly. To same the game is ruined after playing for a hour on the day of release is pretty silly. It'll balance out soon enough.

I wouldn't be moaning if most of these people were good medics, but for the meantime they contribute nothing to teamplay and we are going to have at least 8 more instances of this behaviour.

tbh i absolutely love the update, having 3-4 medics per team is excellent for 2 reasons:

1. when im a soldier i always seem to have a medic
2. when im a scout there so so easy to kill ^_^

yet to try the medic out myself as i never really bother playing it but it makes a huge differance to playing as the other characters

goldrush is awesome but my god theres a lot of different bugs around

Yea the medic madness will hopefully taper off as the noobs get bored. It'll only be worse over the free weekend though.

It's so frustrating to be heavy and have a medic with 100% uber and he doesn't use it even as you're dying.

I do however like the goldrush map a lot but it really needs to mature a bit. Right now there are too many people that don't know how to play it.

Yeah that's to be expected with such a detailed new map. there seem to be plenty of alternative routes throughout the 3 stages. Looks like it could be a very good map once people get used to it.

Aww jeez, I've lost all the medic achivements after the patch. I know I used the cheat to get them all but I've even lost the ones I got legitimately before using the cheat. Great!

Wow it sems a bit harsh to remove the pre-existing ones, do you mean the ones like Chief of Staff, 1 million total healing points etc? Did they also reset your total healing to date?

SO glad I didn't use that console command now.

I used the console command and then un did it about 10 mins later. I used individual console commands to reachieve my geniune achievements like 1000 kills etc. For the last four hours i've been on a few empty servers with a friend to try and get achievements. Done most of the easy ones like 50 bone saw kills but now there getting a little harder. If any one else wants to do the same add me on steam jojothemonkey69.

One perk of using the console command is that if you hadn't got all the old achievements, the command gave them to you. The reset only took away the new ones.
I'd got them all apart from friends like these, and using the command has given it to me even after the new wipe

Why cheat.. Never understand why people revert to cheating in TF2, I've enjoyed TF2 since its release and it has an excellent community of honest players for which over time have improved there gameplay performance and thus achieving there 100% honest "Stats" & "Achievements" awards, its taken me a long time to get a good "TF2 Stat" board and its through hard work,tatics and gameplay... not like the cheaters who gloat behind false achievements pretending to be a good player.

Why cheat.. Never understand why people revert to cheating in TF2, I've enjoyed TF2 since its release and it has an excellent community of honest players for which over time have improved there gameplay performance and thus achieving there 100% honest "Stats" & "Achievements" awards, its taken me a long time to get a good "TF2 Stat" board and its through hard work,tatics and gameplay... not like the cheaters who gloat behind false achievements pretending to be a good player.

I think cheating is a bit harsh as unless they're using aimbot - if they suck - they'll still suck. I don't judge someone by achievements because tbh clans can easily max out the old (and new tbh) awards by locking their server and using ventro to coordinate it. I judge people how they play game to game, never bothering to see what they've unlocked or not.

Why give yourself an upperhand by cheating.. pratice makes perfect... players who put the time in by not cheating will end up better players than those that do, it can't make you feel good knowing you achieved nothing by cheating.

None of the achievements really show that you're a good player. It's just a grind for the most part, which is why I used the console command to get the weapons. Didn't want to spend hours and hours grinding achievements just to try out some new weapons, this isn't a god damn MMO.

if you didnt want to grind for achievements then they cant mean much to you, so why not just play the game as normal and get a nice surprise every time you unlock one?

from what im told you were able to get the new weapons without having to unlock the achievements so its not like you HAD to do it

I don't see the new weapons as giving you "an upper hand". In my limited experience (they've only been out 24hrs or so ) the new weapons are nicely balanced. The new needle gun can't crit so you've gotta be accurate and persevere to get a kill but this is balanced by the health regeneration. The crit uber can be devastating but you're vulnerable to splash damage unlike the regular uber. Only the ubersaw has a distinct advantage over the regular item but if you cheat you'll be a n00b at medic melee and from my experience last night die before building enough charge for an uber

Some good points of view. I understand that I am missing out on the experience and the triumph of gaining the achievements myself. I might not be the worlds great player, but I do enjoy my limited time on the servers. I hate grinding and the console command was a good find for me!

The crit uber is good, but players I uber seem to die very quickly. The normal uber seems to be prefered. I have had a few kills with ubersaw and that does reward spy killing

Well said mrbios he said " spending hours and hours grinding achievements" The non "Cheaters" that do enjoy the game like most of us look forward of hours of fun play and if you get an achievement then thats an added bonus.. He just seems to play it for his own gain cheating and cutting corners which I think is very sad indeed, he obviously can't play well enough to do it honestly so he has to revert to cheating, and I bet he cheats with all of his other games...

LMAO, you're funny. There's no skill involved with the majority of these achievements, it's just a grind. I don't even play medic, I just wanted to see the new weapons without grinding mundane achievements for hours on end. And you won't ever get them all without specifically aiming to achieve them, some of them are very specific which involve stupid things like playing games with people from your friends list. I don't know anyone IRL that plays TF2, so how can I possibly get that achievement by just playing normally, what am I supposed to do just go around adding random people then getting them to join the game so I can get the achievement? Oh there, I definitely deserve the new weapons now, I played well enough to get the achievement and unlock the weapons, yeah
