Official Team Fortress 2 June Update Thread, Pyro Edition.

Meet the Sniper video tomorrow morning (US morning I guess).
Pyro update on Thursday, with 35 achievements, 2 user-created maps and "significant changes to the core class".
And then a free weekend starting Friday.

What more could you ask for? :)

Removing achievements.
I liked it better when it wasn't like an mmo spending ages to get things.
Most of them are not skill based, but random damn luck!

Looking forward to this, even though I don't play pyro, 2 teams with ppl just spamming pyro for the next week :p....should be...interesting anyays!

You don't have to do the achievements. You can take option a,b or c
A - Ignore the achivements all together.
B - Do all the achievements in a few hours on a farming server with a buddy or two.
C - Try and do all the achievements on normal maps to the nuisance of the other people on the server.
 
Never play as pyro, so I'm not bothered about getting the achievements. Will be interesting to see what they are and the new maps :)
 
Servers full of medics were annoying because excess medics contribute nothing to the team, you could have 3 limpets trying to build an uber on a heavy, total spy fodder :cool:

But a team full of maniac pyros.... could really turn up the temperature (da dum tish) and get things done. Spys should just go on holiday though ;)
 
YES pyro is the weakest character in the mix imo, I love playing pyro though. Randomly charging behind enemy lines and frying them.
 
Aye I thought Pyro was really easy then I started playing properly and it is a very hard class to play, I like trying to sneak behind the lines and charging them also :)

Very handy at setting scouts on fire too :)
 
I waited so long for this patch, just waiting for Pyro's to get their deserved loving.. but now I've gone Heavy :D

I certainly feel for spies tho.. it's going to be a hard week for career spies!
 
I quite like the odd rush with pyro, this weekend certainly will be very interesting :)

Pyro makes a difference from my usual engi/medic/sniping mix. If I want to 'make a difference' by actually killing things I like demo which is another stand off-ish class. Pyro is the only one that I use to really get into the fray.

Expect to see brief conversations like this for a week or two when they launch this thing :eek:
 
Pyro is by far the strongest class for defending Goldrush, if you know how to use it.


Pyro is the weakest class I think, never ever used in matches but for messing around on publics it's a good laugh.

We'll see if it gets anything useful, so far that crit fire axe is useless seeing as my clan only play without crits in most games.

Hope they give it something with a little more range otherwise it's just fodder again.

Bring on the Soldier Upgrades!
