***Official Thread -- Resonance Of Fate PS3/360***

Can someone teach me how not to suck on level 6? (some woman gave me a rose thing to take there) - I'm getting my ass handed to me bigtime by some fat gangster types, a drum carrier thing and something wearing an oil drum.

I had a hard time of that too. Keep in mind the moment the drum carrier loses its armour it will explode and do area damage so keep your distance. The things wearing oil drums are easy to kill if you attack with scratch damage then finish off with normal damage.

The fat guys are just a matter of using scratch damage to whittle down their armour then use one of those running attacks and jump to make damage hit random areas.

finally bought this :D got it for £20 (i know) it was an impulse buy... Havent started it yet. Any tips? Japanese or english voices?

Gonna try stop playing games where there is no end to them so i just end up wasting time (kinda)

Jap voices, and tips well i didnt play it much only an hour maybe 3 but battle system is not easy compared to other rpgs so practice as much as it lets you.

done prologue - combat is bloody tough! done the arena tutorials but arena itself isnt actually open for some reason.

I kinda know what im doing but its by far the most complex battle system in a rpg ive played.

Cutscenes excellent graphics - graphics walking around are decent enough.

My complaint about the story is that the characters themselves are interesting/amusing enough, but there's no real interaction between them. It's almost a enigma as to why they're all living together.

Battle system is awesome once you get used to it, especially in later levels. ROF was so frustrating for me to begin with (first hour or two) but it really opened up once I understood what I was doing.

Still not entirely 100% sure what the story is but it still has to be one of the best rpg's I've played this gen, so much depth and reward when you do things right :)

Make sure to save before entering dungeons and spend plenty of time in the battle arena to level up (and switch your characters weapons every so often). Strategy is also key to winning certain battles, regardless of how over-powered you might get :p :)

right :) Think ive done chapter 1 or half of it? I took your advice and did the Arena until i got to 1 - * (star) which was the highest i could go. Have also had 2 of my guys swap machine gun and pistols so that both were a bit skilled in both weapons. I have Vash just doing pistols and Throwing weapons.

So anyway i continued with the story and was in some deserted town where i fought monsters in every area with no break - including my first boss fight. Which i won ofc :D I like using the tri-star moves a lot looks pretty cool.

Some things...

i REALLY like the fact that whatever clothes you buy are in the CUT SCENES! :D so you can dress em up weird and they are in custscenes which looks rather spiffing indeed!

Dont like

In that first town/dungeon you can only equip before you go in... pressing triangle did nothing whilst in these "fight areas" so it meant that if i ran out of grenades or healing then i was scuppered unless i left the entire fight area and re-equipped another set of nades or healing. Of course when i go back in most enemies respawn so you have to fight through all the areas again to get back to the bit where you stopped. :(

Dont like that you dont really get close battles....e.g. why cant i continue to fight if one of my guys is taken down? I've won a few fights when i was in critical condition but that was because the enemy was almost dead anyway. Doesnt seem right that you cant fight on if only 1 of the party is incapacitated.

Anyway won every fight so far no problem at all :D Fight combaat mechanics are good but you need to be ninja fast to click at the right time and i just press buttons and trust to luck :D Working soo far ;)

so very realistic then ;) in life sometimes people tend to "fall into" jobs or with a crowd of people. There is no big meaningful reason why.

not really. Combat is complicated but keep at it and its fine. Its a wee bit different to other jrpgs out there.

should get pretty boring rather fast :/ does start to feel like a real grind
