Official University Thread!:D

What are you hoping to do?

The project is looking at pharmacological methods of preventing the failure of vein grafts in coronary bypass surgeries :)

All very novel stuff, never been tried before so hopefully the British Heart Foundation will see the good preliminary data from my supervisor and opt to fund the studentship!

Firm Offer: Surrey, Business Economics with Finance @BBB
Insurance Offer: Brunel, Economics with Business Finance @bbc

Two nice offers for me, I did apply to Leicester as well but I really didn't like the accommodation, on the flip side however it is next to Welford Road which would have been great.

Err Bump. I'd thought about applying this time around, but it looks like I missed the deadline. Anyway the UCAS site still seems to have the application service up so may be its not too late... After falling ill on two (!) different uni courses I was gonna knock this on the head and honestly I'd rather work my way into a decent job but finding entry level stuff is really hard at the moment and it feels like a good time to get a degree and hopefully come out of it three years later into a more positive job market. I think I'd really enjoy it but I'd sure miss earning moneys.

I'm thinking Computer Science. I find it interesting and welll, computers are where its at. I'd love to do a sandwich course, so that I'd have better chances of a job at the end. Part time course, with part time job would be even better - but I dunno how realistic that is.

AAA is a high offer for any course, I got AAB for the EEE course's at Sheffield, Warwick and Southampton. I chose to go to Sheffield and have enjoyed the last 3 1/2 years. EEE is not an easy course though, be prepared to have you enthusiasm for electronics severely tested, quite a few people I know really don't want to work in the field after graduation.

What route did you end up doing in your final Year, Electrical/Electronic? I'm a first year at Sheff doing EEE. And Sheffield does have a very good night life, a lot of my mates find it a lot better than their own Unis.

So far I have 4 uncoditionals in Mechanical/civil engineering and 1 in applied maths, waiting for response from strathclyde mechanical pending interview tommorow. I think I'm gonna go to glasgow university instead though :P.

Unconditionals for French & German from Warwick, Kings College, Southampton, Exeter. Waiting on Bristol (still).

Graduated last year with a maths degree from Warwick. Best 3 years of my life. I now make missiles for a living. :D

Whats nightlife and stuff like at Warwick mate? I went there for an open day week or two ago and really liked it.

Offers from Nottingham so far for MSc Economics and still waiting on UCL and Warwick. Hoping UCL give one.

Current 3rd year LSE BSc Economics student. Even though I will probably end up getting a first I was too relaxed in my first 2 years to get back into LSE or Oxbridge.

Not exactly what this thread was meant for but I am returning for my final year in my part time masters course in Civil Engineering. Can't wait to finish it now!

conditional offers from Durham, Warwick and York (Still waiting for St Andrews)
for mathematics. :D

Although think ill take Durham (A maths, A Further Maths, B in any other) as firm, York (AAB) as insurance.

Hopefully off to University of Kent to study Computer Science with AI and year in industry.
I cannot wait to get away from home, roll on the parties and *education*

I had a different uni experience to most as I met a girl very soon after moving in. Be careful, I was lucky it worked out and we had an absolute ball but it can go so very wrong :p

Anyway uni is great, although I didn't think so at the time.
