*** Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Thread***

It's a reasonable game, but if I'm honest it won't be around for long. Judging by the way Mythic talks about 1.1, it'll include every change (including KOTBS/Black Guard), in which case it will be coming in December.

That'd be the same mistake as AoC - waiting to throw it out in one big patch is what gets people to quit. And quitting in WAR is a big thing, as for the OpenRVR/Keeps/City Sieges/PQs you really need to be on a full server (e.g. Eltharion for OpenRVR, as it seems to be the only semi full server.) Mark Jacobs seems to think merging servers means the game is failing - pride which, if anything, will be the downfall of the game.

P.S. I hate the way WAR has implemented healing. It appears to be the least rewarding archetype and is simply lame (although not as bad as it was in AoC!) They've also failed dismally to stop healing from becoming, and I quote, "spam healing, standing at the back going heal, heal, heal" as to perform the best as a healer that is what needs to be done. AM/Shaman put out more healing ignoring their mechanic, WP/DOK put out more healing standing at the back spamming Supplication/Blood Offering, and RP/Zealot are all about spamhealing - just lumbered with the trees of a hybrid.

Joined up with alliance warband for a keep defence second night running last night. The night before, i ressed every player, just another RP spamming heals, on maybe two people, me the rest. Was mad, but all for alliance, so didn't mind.

Last night, was in keep, thought we'd surprise them. I have a mod that allows me to see all warband. I had them all healed to full, no issues. That i get leader shouting 'WAKE UP', 'YOU MOAN ABOUT REZZING ALL THE TIME, BUT HEALING WILL STOP THAT' in caps. Apparently, there was a reknown farmer/solo player, outside the keep gate, getting damaged. Not only was he not in our band, but not even in the keep. When i said he wasn't there and couldn't see him, i got called a 'tool' and i weren't doing my job. At which point i CTRL-ALT-DEL'd and quit.

It's like going to the hospital on NHS, then calling the doctor an idiot for not making you a cup of tea, good going...now get to the back of the queue...

Performance in keeps is very bad though, i'll upgrade my drivers later, but i shouldn't struggle like that tbh, and it's not just keeps really.

I'd say it's even on our server, scenario's are even, Order win maybe 2 times out of 3 that im in. Keep defences and attacks, both sides are even. Open RvR is down to finding an open party and being in the right T3 zone tbh, but it's not rare.

Getting dull now though, i'm limited to Scenario's and keep raids, quests i 100% need a group for, so that's a big problem, i'm not seeing open groups in T3 except Keeps, and then just 1 total.

193k scenario xp?! Madness!! Most i've ever seen in T3 is 16k, though to be honest, sometimes getting a full scenario is rare, i've been in them with just 3 players...

Well, i find only playing at the weekends makes the game last longer :) im enjoying it although i did find the healer as others have said more of a spam healer and without the xp for doing it. Still, as a 'tank wannabe' player, i do say thanks for the heals now when i get some :)

Guess like all online games, its the people you are with that make or break it.

yup, that and my laziness are breaking it atm, doing everything solo gets boring very quickly atm, more my fault at the end of the day but i dont find myself rushing home to log on, hell i find very little inclination to even click the shortcut now

Well that isn't your fault at all and matches my opinion.

It's an MMO, you shouldn't have to solo, nor actually be inclined to. Soloing should be confined to times when you are uncertain how long your game period will be, playtimes when many aren't online, or personal quests/tasks you need to do alone and not feasible for grouping.

I hate soloing, defeats just about the primary premise of an MMO and as a result, i have two major issues with this game:

a) I can't find PvE groups full-stop, so Quests and PQ's are null and void.
b) As an all out healer, i cannot solo, full-stop.
c) That leaves me with 1 option and attributes to a key problem for people in this game: Everyone in Scenario's.

Less servers ffs, please. If i log out, i'm getting requests to join other servers, only TWO EN are high at prime-time that i can see. Just how many servers are there? Because i'm on one of the higher population servers, with both sides Medium, and the population is falling through the floor...

I know this is a daft question, but why are you having to solo? How come none of your guildmates are willing to group with you?

I'm on Hirn, which is one of the higher population servers, at the moment I do soloing pretty much only when I feel in a soloing mood, other than that I am always grouped.

It does sound like they need to do a few server merges. I'm on Hirn as a warrior priest, and have none of the problems Veg describes. Most of the time if I start in on a tier 3 PQ people will join me as soon as they see it's not empty. There's almost always some open world RvR going on somewhere, and the whole experience still feels busy and active.

I can imagine it wouldn't be much fun if it was a ghost town, but at the same time I sympathise with Mythic - merging servers so soon would really be commercial suicide. They need free server transfers asap though.

Aha !! A stinky Order player on my server eh ! :)

Yeah, as I say, thats pretty much identical to the experiences I have had on Hirn as destruction.

It's a question of levels and guild size. I think my guild have roughly 60 members now, half of those must be one off recruits, but usually the same 10-15 ever online regularly, and on average 4-5 on at prime-time, half of which are lower levels, so then you are left with maybe 2 people; who are doing scenario's.

Open groups just seem to have vanished, in both T2 and T3, and when i started playing i'd see 3-4 open groups on average, now i see none. Last night i saw one across whole of T3, that was my keep defense group, in T2 there were none.

I've noticed that when i do group up (like mount gunbad yesterday), it seems to be with the same other guild, who are always together and i've seen them a lot. Been asked to join them as im apparently a good healer, so i'll think about that for sure, though it's difficult as im a council member/standard bearer and get along well with a few of the guildies. Seemed scandinavian guild, but same playtimes as me and excellent english, so no problem. Most nights this week i've seen only 2 people online in my guild at prime.

Pimping the server I play on now, since it's pop has dropped since the subscriptions started.

We've gone from a medium server to a low server in a few days :(

We've still got the most active guild on there though, and looking at merging with some other guilds :)

Join up on Sea of Dreams :D

I'm an Officer for the Soul Collectors and Soul Reapers called Kryler on there... order side... obviously :p

We do regular keep runs and raids as well, and we're planning a mass levelling spam fest on the weekend to boost everyone up a little :)

Our guild still has over 50 members online at peak times, but we were having over 200 at peaks before =/

Oh that reminds me, other than Mount Gunbad - are there any other awesome places for loot and inf like that in WAR ?

Haven't come across any yet.

Harsh though it sounds, I would definately consider moving guild. MMOs are at their best when played with friends, and if you are getting hardly anyone from your current guild bothering to group with you, then ultimately there isnt much point in being in the guild. I mean 60 is a fair enough amount of members (our guild only has 50), if many of those arent logging in, then I would suggest they arent terribly interested and should be demoted/kicked from the guild and some active recruitment done to fill the guild with people who a) actually want to play and b) actually want to be in that guild.

If that other guild has folks who are taking the time to help their guildies and group with them , then that sounds like a better place to be. Either that, or on a totally different server, I know certainly that on Hirn when I click the open groups button there are always open groups around. (at least in T2 and T3 where I currently am with my characters)

Yeh agreed. Think i'll have a little chat later. It's good in part, as we are in an alliance what seems to be the biggest on server and has the biggest guilds from what i can guess. But they are complete a-holes from what i saw last night.

I'm up for close-knit, fun-loving groups who share the same laughs and playtimes. It's a shame, me and the other council members (5 or so) are like that to some extent, but that isn't really enough is it.

Servers seem to have some bad and some good. My server is pretty balanced, but lacks the community. Other servers have the community and fun, lacks the population.

Either the server population scales were set to low, or they are moving the goalposts, as 'Medium' is not many at all...

That is very impressive. Ironically, my choice of server was between Sea of Dreams (open) and World's Edge Mountain (core). The guild would run the server pretty much!

I was tempted to make my first alt on there, so now i think i might do and check it out, but i'm not levelling another Runepriest because at T3 it's painful.

Yeah, well the online members are going down a bit. Since the server caps got raised I think people are starting over on the larger populated servers.

If you do sign up to Sea of Dreams give me (Kryler) a tell and I'll hit you an invite if you want.

We don't have any level requirements, only that your active enough and turn up to the guild meets we put on the calendar (when you can).

We do a guild loto on Saturdays, where the people who have been most active within the guild that week have their names entered into a hat and win some G (normally at least 10G).

We're still raiding T2 keep regularly, but want to make the move to T3 quite soon... we don't have enough established T3 players yet to make a decent run but we're hoping to sort that out this weekend :)

Despite the huge amount of members we have in the guild, we do demote and kick members that aren't attending regular meets and those that aren't benefiting the guild in one way or another.

We have the same policies as any guild you'd join, but we're not a real hardcore levelling type guild. We only have (off the top of my head) 3 or 4 people that are rank 30+, with Talrysara being the first in the guild to reach 40 last night :)

A lot of us play every day, but most enjoy keep raiding and fighting destruction more than grinding out the levels. Oh and the occasional Naked PQ :D

Most of us are between R20-R30, so we really should start on the T3 keeps thinking about it.
