Personally, I'm not a huge fan of notches, so I went with the Mi Mix 2S instead, but this is a cracking phone for the price (I'm salty about the AMOLED tbh).

Will this be available in the UK or import only?

I believe Three are going to partner with Xiaomi when the move in to the UK (they are already opening up Mi stores in some EU countries), but I would also expect there to be a price hike in the UK.

I think the Mi 8 SE is more interesting, but it lacks LTE band 20

No snapdragon 845, no mas. Do like the size though.

I'd also like to know - seems like a great option if google pay etc actually works on the global version.

I don't see why it wouldn't, it works fine on my Global Mi Mix 2S

I've just ordered one of these but have since read about the thermal throttling on the snapdragon 845 processor. Is this a real issue in real life performance or just bench marking? If it is a real issue what other phones should i be considering in the same price range. I have paid £468 for the 8gb 128g global version sold by a well known retailer. It also comes with a 2 year warranty.

No idea, my Mix 2S gets a bit toasty with extended gameplay, but I haven't noticed any throttling.
