*****OFFICIAL YOUTUBE COMMUNITY THREAD*****

Going to get started on making YouTube videos again. I have a large store of games that I haven't played for ages that I am going to make videos from. Also switching from using FRAPS to record game footage to OBS Studio which seems to be a bit better for what I want and has the advantage of being free.

Just need to get Adobe CC for video editing with Premiere and After Effects and also having Photoshop for thumbnails and stuff will be useful.

I use OBS without FRAPS, and it works fine. Edit with Blender and Audacity for cleaning sound, Paint.Net for thumbnails and graphics. All free :D

Uploaded another video today I made quickly last night of me getting into the top league in Chronicle. Link in sig.

Why exactly you use blender? :)

NOT trolling, just asking.

Anyone gone through the experience of requesting permission to use copyrighted music?

While still trying to find someone to do me an outro for the relaunch of my channel, I've picked a song and realised I'd best get permission.

The song is made by Flux Pavilion.

good luck - I've been hammered by a few copyrighted claims on some of my videos....specially FO4

I could use Blender and Audacity but I'd rather learn the Adobe suite of tools since that will help me in the future. Yeah I'll be doing some testing next week because I have a week without the Internet so I'll just spend some time doing some recording of single player games to test out my set up.

Plus I can afford Adobe CC so I thought why not? It'll give me motivation to keep making videos if I am paying £46 a month for the right to do it :).

most music is best avoided.at some point a claim will be put in and then they just get your views and payments it earns. often it isnt taken down though.

also some music songs are blocked in many countries some very well known artists so best just to stick to what you know is allowed or find the music that is free and use that but that is as bad if not worse.

some say they are free to use but arnt.

Most of my content is Star Citizen or Rimworld related, I do post other stuff but typically unless it involves gameplay with friends it'll be one of those two games. A majority is family friendly but there are a few with swearies. I only ever use royalty free music either from the Youtube free music archive or from musicians own sites and under their terms of use.
