Officials issue heatwave warning

Stupid weather! You go out and get smashed, come home and sleep at 4am. You then wake up at between 8 and 9 because it's too hot to sleep :( I feel rubbish and I`m supposed to play badminton for 3 hours in a non-ac hall that makes a great oven...

Weeeeeeeeeeee pure sunshine in Manchester gna go swim in the Irwell, jumping off the waterfall

I haven't eaten anything the past 2 days, the heat destroys my appetite.

Oh and Cheets, that thunderstorm was VERY close to us here and in Southport, somes roof was hit, and half blown off and set on fire, and a few other smaller ones I've heard about too. The thunder was rattling the windows, setting of cars alarms, and I could hear the kind of "clicks" electricity makes when jumping. Scary. But I was at the front door under the hood thing watching it

I was timing it between flashes and thunder but it never got close :(

A house got hit a couple of years back and it set alight the dorm of the house, that was scary.

He is mad, don't worry about it. ;)

London just feels ridiculously warm at the moment, I've got the windows open about as far as possible and get no relief because there's nary a breeze to be had.

Cheeky bugger.

The heat really isn't an issue it's the humidity in London that causes more of a problem IMO.

Just you wait SPW you'll soon acclimatise to it ;)

Or do I need to go back to calling you Semi Pro Whinger? :p

Met office are useless

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8173533.stm

You will need a brolly on holiday in the UK in August - the Met Office is issuing a revised forecast for more unsettled weather well into the month.

It is a far cry from the "barbecue summer" it predicted back in April.

The news will raise questions about the Met Office's ability to make reliable seasonal forecasts.
