Oh Deer

I absolutely hate people who do this with passion. Whos to say that oil had only just been spilt?

Its an accident. Get over it.

Correct me if im wrong but how is it taking funds ? We already pay for it! in council tax, a lorry spills it load its against the law and the council didnt clear it.. simple dont matter when it happened. It caused about £300 in damage to a brand new bike and it was a day after his CBT/Birthday. Would you just say ahh well Ill repair it or leave it when it's somebodys pride and joy? Fool

As the guy said, accidents happen, how do you expect the council to have cleaned it up if it was spilled five minutes earlier, how about you just claim on your own insurance rather than trying to blame the council?

And it is taking funds because you're taking money from the council for a pretty **** reason, I'd rather see the money go towards education rather than someone looking for some easy money.

I thought tax ect went to education ? Im talking about council tax, which goe's towards emptying bins and ROAD work! within the boundaries of the council.

Its not a **** reason what would have happened if my brother had died or a person slipped in the road and was run over ? Whoevers fault it was the POLICE advised us to do it. If they didnt approve or even suggest it we wouldnt have even thought about it.

My point remains, if the spillage was recent then there isn't really anyone to blame, it's known as an accident, whatever the severity.

If it had been there for several hours without being cleaned up then fair enough.

well who knows how long it was there ? the police confirmed the lorry reported it to the council and wasnt cleared in due time *only just found this out* non the less I dont excuse you for your comments I think there out of order personally and hope you trip on some oil and land on your head, maybe then you will realise how serious these ACCIDENTS can be huh ? back on topic, dear im sorry to hear that good luck with the insurance. If it was reported and wasnt cleared in due time then u have a claim.

I could understand it if my brother had an accident up a ladder at work and claimed being a carpet fitter or something but christ...

Now now son, maybe you should calm down slightly. The fact you didn't mention that it had been reported and not cleaned up was pretty much the point I was making, if it was newly spilled then it was no-ones fault and was an accident. I'm not saying accidents aren't serious, I'm not saying I'm glad your brother was involved (which seems to be how you're taking it), I'm saying that it may have been unavoidable if it was newly spilled.

Yeah Randoms posts were a classic example of the old information drip feed where new facts and information appear every new post to make their viewpoint seem more reasonable :p

Nope - school money comes from local councils. I believe it is usually the largest single use of Council Tax, followed by supporting the elderly.

I might calculate how many calories I burn per day on avoiding all the pot holes around here. Never know, after a year or so the council might owe me a steak and chips!!!:D

Or I might just concede that life is a ***** and carry on with my day as normal ;)
