Just gone outside to get some stuff out the shed for the kids only to find all the Power Tools have been robbed...

My brand new Dremel i've been wanting for ages that I bought 2 weeks ago... gone...

My £90+ JCB drill... and all accessories... gone...

B&D Cordless screwdriver... gone...

Jigsaw... gone...

All spare blades, bits, drive heads etc etc... gone...

:mad::mad::mad:

Just glad they didn't take the bike i've just bought my little girl for her birthday.

Weighing up if its worth ringing the coppers, and if its worth claiming on the insurance...

BAH!

Annoyed... MUCH!

That's harsh mate - did they break in? Because if the shed was unlocked then insurers generally don't pay out.

Sorry to hear your loss.

Was double padlocked, went out and both were just hanging open, and I know for a fact it was locked the night before as we've been making sure due to the new bike.

Dunno what to do to make it any securer, its only a normal wooden garden shed, there is only so much you can do with it... :(

Backgarden next to street? Did they break in by climbing the fence?

We're an end terrace so there is a passage down the side of our house, so they'll have gone down that and over our fence.

Been into town, bought 2 new padlocks to replace the ones that were opened incase they were damaged/weakened etc.

Bought annother latch and laminated padlock for further up the door.

So its now triple padlocked, not much more I can do than that.

There's nowt in the shed worth nicking now, other than the mower... and a few hand tools.

When I get round to replacing the power tools they'll be living in the house from now on

Calmed down a bit now anyway, was furious earlier, just needed to vent.

Just gotta look on the bright side, at least it was only the shed and a couple hundred pounds of tools rather than the house they broke into.

I would certainly report it to the Police and claim off your insurance. Does the shed have a window? Were the tools on show? It is worth covering or misting the window - e.g. attaching opaque plastic on the inside.

Has a window, but how the shed is the windowed side is facing the side wall of the house, so you can't see inside or access the shed from that direction.

Nothing expensive will be going in the shed from now on, learnt my lesson.

Only thing thats worth money that'll be in there is the mower, and good luck to em if they wanna try and dig that out without getting a hernia lol :D
