Just gone outside to get some stuff out the shed for the kids only to find all the Power Tools have been robbed...

My brand new Dremel i've been wanting for ages that I bought 2 weeks ago... gone...

My £90+ JCB drill... and all accessories... gone...

B&D Cordless screwdriver... gone...

Jigsaw... gone...

All spare blades, bits, drive heads etc etc... gone...

:mad::mad::mad:

Just glad they didn't take the bike i've just bought my little girl for her birthday.

Weighing up if its worth ringing the coppers, and if its worth claiming on the insurance...

BAH!

Annoyed... MUCH!

thats bad :(

how much £ wise do you think they have taken?

I would claim and make sure to report the £2000 road bike you bought off a man down the pub ;)

You no longer have any power tools?

Loss of man points.

You can get your man points back, by carrying out tasks, that were previously going to be done with power tools, manually. Manually doesn't mean with a screwdriver, it means with teeth and fingers. Like a real man.

That's harsh mate - did they break in? Because if the shed was unlocked then insurers generally don't pay out.

Sorry to hear your loss.

Was double padlocked, went out and both were just hanging open, and I know for a fact it was locked the night before as we've been making sure due to the new bike.

Dunno what to do to make it any securer, its only a normal wooden garden shed, there is only so much you can do with it... :(

Claim on your Insurance, It's why you pay for it.
For Future reference a good security device for a shed is one of those baby monitors. Just plug the reciever in when you go to bed & it will wake you if anybody is fiddling about, Bonus of this is you have the choice to catch them yourself or call the law.
Brilliant cheap security for Motor Bikes in sheds.
Personally I keep my tools in the house but then half of my house is like one big shed.

Not really got the space, but I might have to clear out under the stairs and move the random tat to the shed.

thats no way to refer to your missus!! :p

seriously though thats the best idea, i doubt anyone would want the rubbish thats stored in my shed

Always report it to the police. The police prefer people don't report crimes as it helps to keep the crime statistics down. They won't bother to investigate (probably won't even come round or call you), but at least it's recorded.

Yeah report it to the Police then you'll get a crime number to keep the insurance happy if they want it.

First of all, I'd be so upset if this happened to me....getting power tools stolen is worse than getting your wife stolen. Tools have sentimental value, and never talk back....they're always there for you...

You have to call the police - as most insurers require a police report, etc to process the claim.

I'm really sorry for you loss man...I hope the people that stole them chop their hands off!

Backgarden next to street? Did they break in by climbing the fence?

We're an end terrace so there is a passage down the side of our house, so they'll have gone down that and over our fence.

Been into town, bought 2 new padlocks to replace the ones that were opened incase they were damaged/weakened etc.

Bought annother latch and laminated padlock for further up the door.

So its now triple padlocked, not much more I can do than that.

There's nowt in the shed worth nicking now, other than the mower... and a few hand tools.

When I get round to replacing the power tools they'll be living in the house from now on

Calmed down a bit now anyway, was furious earlier, just needed to vent.

Just gotta look on the bright side, at least it was only the shed and a couple hundred pounds of tools rather than the house they broke into.

Sorry to hear that, when I've had stuff stolen in the past (only minor things) it has annoyed me so much, the thought of knowing some little ****'s have made off with your stuff, ugh.
