Linky dink.

Wouldn't be F1 without the threat of a protest hanging in the air....though Horner doesn't seem to rate his chances:

"Basically, if you stall the wing you take all the drag off it and pick up straight-line speed," explained Horner. "It's something that's been done quite a lot over the years but with the wing separators you're not supposed to do that. Our question ultimately will be: 'Is it clever design or is it in breach of the regulations'? They must be very confident that it's legal. I would think it will be legal."

Currently they seem to have asked the fia for clarification which is probably the best way of going about it, as the car doesnt even need to be legal yet there is nothing to actually protest.

i dont know if its within the rules or not and iam sure people paid far too much could argue either way but hopefully this gets a defintive yes or no before the season starts. i really dont want to see the type of disparity like at the start of last season that effectively killed the first third of the season.

Apparently not the case if what Wicksta says is true ;)

"Ferrari sources have confirmed to AUTOSPORT that the team has no intention of taking the matter further, and have ruled out the possibility of it lodging a protest.."

From Autosport ;)

I will wait a day longer to see if ferrari will or won't moan to the FIA.
Or it could just be they will use the same kind of back wing?

isnt f1 ment to be that every car has to be unique from the other to gain advantages and win? or do they all have to build the same car but with different mechanics and spanners?

No, F1 isn't supposed to be a spec-series (i.e, one chassis and one engine for all). But there are a great many restrictions, some that I think everyone would agree with and some that are hotly contested.

And I shall duck out of here now, because if I get started I won't stop :)

Do they have to check it before a race weekend. Just thought they could send someone with the regulations and ave it sorted. Its a recepie for chaos

All the cars are checked at each race to ensure they are within the rules, limites, sizes, weights etc but a team can protest something if they think it is bending the rules too much.
