The palm trees make it for me.

Not sure on a 7990 block don't think they did one.

Will have a chat with them tomorrow when i order.

Love these glass looking blocks aquacomputer are churning out just now.

Though it does remind me of the malibu logo :p

Aquacomputer have done a glass nickel and also copper block for the 7990. Have been tempted to get one from a competitor rather than wait for the EK one to come back in stock. If you can get a nickel glass one, I WANT IT!!!!

Why cant they manufacture gfx cards the other way round so we don't need to have epic looking blocks facing downward -.-

When ISA slots were replaced with PCI slots they flipped the PCI cards upside down so that they could have both types of slot next to each other and share a physical bracket on the case. At the time heat/aesthetics simply wasn't an issue (only CPU's used heatsinks and putting fans on them seemed overkill), add to that most home computers used the "desktop" form factor (towers were only used in business workstations) so all the cards were sideways anyway. When AGP was added to the mix it followed the PCI layout which was a blessing really or the would have been collisions when CPU/GPU heatsinks started to get huge.

PCI-E could have broken the trend however that would have meant losing the first couple of slots due to the size of GPU heatsinks.
