Oh no...

Its not my first day at this job, been working for them since about May, then passed my HGV and been driving for them since about September. It's the first day I've missed working here, and I have never been later for them, bloody love the job!!

Oh well ignore all the abuse then. Thats nothing to worry about, missing your first day is one thing but it being the first day you have missed is another lol

This. Never understood why you would use a phone which can go wrong/flat, rather than a simple alarm clock.

Well a plug-in alarm clock can reset itself too or a power outage could reset it and then no alarm.

I think these days moble phone alarms are just as reliable as alarm clocks and useful for other reason as well. I use mine every day and have had no troubles.

How is it his own fault?!

His iPhone failed, probably crashed and tried to reboot. Well, I suppose it's his own fault for owning an iPhone in the first place. :p

Andriod f.t.w! :D

Actually, it's far more likely for an Android phone to have issues with the alarm than an iPhone.

Still, starting a new job it seems silly to rely on just one alarm. Or the OP could be lying, who knows. Or we've all just read it wrong and he isn't starting a new job... (yep, as above) :p

He needs one of these:

Of course he could forget to set or wind it.

I'd never rely on a smartphone as an Alarm. Love the Apple basheds jumping out of the woodwork though. It's so predictable it isn't even funny anymore.

Now whilst I've never had any trouble with any of my iPhones that doesn't mean somebody else's wont have. This is why I use an alarm click with two alarms and a battery backup. After all if I have so etching important to get up for and don't take precautions I can only blame myself if something goes wrong.

That's the crux if the issue right there; nobody takes responsibility any more. It's always somebody else's or something else's fault.

I have a Philips mains radio alarm. I bought in in 1981, before the first day of my current employment. It still keeps working, I dare not buy a new one in case it signals the end of my employment. 30 years and going.

That's the other thing I love about Britain, people never take responsibility and accept blame. It's entirely his fault, as he did not take account of the possibility of something going wrong with his iPhone alarm.

This, entirely this.

"It's not my fault my alarm didn't work boo hoo".

I've got an exam today, if my calculator doesn't work and I have no back up, it's my own fault. The op needs a second alarm if iphones are prone to not working.

Why? he's late for work and yet he decides to post on here instead of oh I don't know, going to work?

I'm a delivery driver, my job is safe-ish, they are in desperate need of me. Shame I can't go in today now as the last run from my depot is at 7.30. My punishment is the next 3 days off work...and I only get paid for what I work....
