Ok finally gonna sort this problem

Obviously if you had a spare mobo you would have tried this. Definitely starting to look more and more like the board being at fault isn't it?

Yea i have loads of spare boards but most are intel sockets and my amd ones are older sockets than Am3, im pretty sure it is board, i can't think what it would be though, i think its something mundane probably, like a static build up from something? seems like the sorta thing that would stop power travelling through on boot properly
