is this memory rite ? OCZ Performance 1024MB DDR400 PC3200 CL 3-3-3-8 (LIFETIME WARRANTY)

SLi is for running 2 Nvidia graphics cards side by side, therefore a waste if you are going for an Ati card. Crossfire mobo's are the Ati equivilent of SLi.

SLi is designed for Nvidia graphics cards, it lets you run two Nvidia graphics card at the same time which is great for high resolution gaming. The ATi equivalent is called Crossfire. So the Asus A8R-MVP Crossfire board is what you should buy instead.

That RAM should be just fine.

Edit: Too slow :p

I think this is your best solution:

Get the dual core 3800+, with an X1800XT/XL 256MB. When you're gaming, turn the monitor resolution down to 1280 x 1024. That way you can still have great gaming (but not at full 24"). When you're not gaming, crank the resolution back to full.
