OK whats wrong now

I'm still waiting for my new screen to be delivered. :(

Will try that and a fresh install with Windows 7 (when that arrives), fresh drivers etc and hope that it sorts out all problems.

Cheers evryone!!

Also these were my scores:

FPS: 95.3
Scores: 2401

Couldn't get dx11 type to work??

DX10
1024x768 windowed
Shaders: High
Textures: High
Filter: trilinear
Anisotropy: 4x
Occlusion: enabled
Refraction ""
Volumetric: ""

That looks OK.

30hz interlaced would probably look like a bit jittery at that fps does it?

Good to hear you're getting it sorted now.

its performing about right .

don't worry.

when u get your new monitor you will feel the performance more.

Weren't you and others getting better FPS from your 5850's?

Or do you think this could also be affected by the poor refresh rate of the screen. I have also noticed that the resolution that my screen displays at is often not supported by many games so thats another nod to the screen being a problem

but im using 9.11 beta drivers which gives a slight boost.. your using 9.10 drivers,

and also a 5850 isn't that much behind the 5870 so don't think that a 5870 is far head.

your 5870 is performing good mate

Nice one mate. Here's hoping the screen is the end of my troubles!

As does your Phenom II 720.

Erm... is my processor not more powerful?

what game(s)?
btw 720p is kinda CPU limited, get a better sceen like 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 and you will notice its more GPU limited

The main game I am having problems with is Mirror's Edge.

Just turning around creates a wave type effect and if there is ever more than just the main character on screen the fps drops to the point that it becomes unplayable.

FM10 gives my GPU 1.5 stars for the 3D match engine.

Mass Effect looks poor. On another thread I atually had to ask if it was just the game that was bad as I had seen better ps2 games.

Burnout Paradise is the only game that doesn't seem to have a problem. All settings as high as possible, looks great and no probs what so ever!

i would just wait till u get your monitor then see how it goes..

Never played Mirrors Edge but i do no that it has PhysX could it be related to this being enabled and trying to run on his CPU as no Nvidia card is present?

Just an idea as this happens in Batman AA.

To the OP if there is an option in ME to disable PhysX then do it.

Yeah I have stopped panicking and am now just awaiting delivery.

I was thinking the very same thing earlier and am def gonna try that out. Cheers for the advice.

On a seperate note had a little problem earlier with my rig not posting. Was speaking to one of the Ocuk techs on the phone going through my overclock settings when I noticed the volts are set at about 4.235 (ish). I'm sure that I've read loads of people getting 3.6Ghz + on the same processor as me with volts between 1.2 - 1.65

Anyone? I reckon this could be causing me probs as I have yellow lights on my mobo and when setting the values the 4.235 figure is yellow and not far from being in the red ( I think yellow means caution and red is code for "crazy overclock" on my mobo"
