OK whats wrong now

On a seperate note had a little problem earlier with my rig not posting. Was speaking to one of the Ocuk techs on the phone going through my overclock settings when I noticed the volts are set at about 4.235 (ish). I'm sure that I've read loads of people getting 3.6Ghz + on the same processor as me with volts between 1.2 - 1.65

Anyone? I reckon this could be causing me probs as I have yellow lights on my mobo and when setting the values the 4.235 figure is yellow and not far from being in the red ( I think yellow means caution and red is code for "crazy overclock" on my mobo"
if the voltage was at 4.235v your cpu would be fred . also i don't even think it goes that high.
and 1.65v is way to high..

u should ask ocuk for the overclock settings for your system..

I spent about 15 mins with the guy on the phone and for some reason we could not get the new o/c settings for my system.

The overclock I am currently using is one of their pre set profiles and the volts are that high as far as I can see. Just gonna go into my BIOS and get the exact figures!

Haha my bad :)

OK so here are the settings II currently have:

FSB Frequency: 238
PCIE Frequency: 101 (I moved this down from the 103 it was set at after some advice on here)

DRAM Frequency: 1269Mhz ( This was supposed advertised as being 1600Mhz but we have never been able to get it that high)

CPU Volt: 1.4875 ( this is still showing as high or yellow )
CPU/NB Volt : 1.250
CPU VDDA Volt: 2.67650
DRAM Volt: 1.81525

1.4875v is ok. do u mean 1.4875v is yellow in the bios? if yes, thats fine..

as for DRAM Frequency, yeah it won't do 1600Mhz stable. my ram are 1600 but im running it at 1333mhz 6-6-6-20 1t.

Yes thats what I was getting at :) Good to hear thats ok. Was wondering as despite my case and fans providing fantastic temps ( CPU gets as cool as 20 sometimes) my overclock fails quite often and reverts back to stock.

This really leaves me baffled. My case actually pumps out COLD air. I thought that overclock faults are mainly down to high temps so thats what originall got me thinking that the high volts could be a prob!

Thanks for clearing that up mate!

:)

it can be a number of things why it faults..

ram faulty
cpu not stable at the current frequency
cpu- nb not stable at the current frequency or not enough voltage.
ect, ect
