Perhaps you need to agree to agree, since you're both saying the same thing. The Bank of England will accept and exchange genuine English banknotes in perpetuity. Retail banks do not have to (and will not) do this.hrrrm, did not know that, i thought the old (old) £20 (and other older notes) were no longer accepted anywhere other than the bank of england in london?

Yes, I handle hundreds on a daily basis nearly.

We still take those at work, thousands in circulation still. Prob get almost as many of them as we do the new ones!
