old 7 series

279k mile oil burner?? More reliable??

The W220s are bomb-proof.

as with most S320 CDIs

it'll be an ex airport taxi.

I would rather have a late sport, like one from, http://www.gmscars.co.uk/

Just don't look at the prices.

why do they keep their sold stuff on there, its so cruel. Its a bit like bullseye, It needs Jim Bowen introducing the cars with "let's have a look at what you could have bought"

That guy really does know how to vac carpets!

Need to find a place similar to that in the North West.

Why not travel? if you're in the market for an old luxo-barge and you see the 'right' car, distance is pretty much meaningless, for me it is anyway.

GMS is surely the type of dealer you get off your butt and travel for, if he has the car you want and it's within your budget?

It's an absolute shed.

I'd say that car is far from being a shed, I'd say costs-aside it would be nicer to own than the average car on our roads. It's just it's total cost of ownership probably rivals some 7 series that are 10 years newer, and at that point it's not so competitive.

I'm tempted to go and have a look and then offer 2k. See what they say. If it has been sitting there for 6months, then they must want rid.

He baulked at my utterly non serious (but not as far as he was concerned) offer of £4k + my old 318i so good luck with that!
Its nice,no shed!, but, no where near worth that money imo.

This would be my choice, I love e38's, had one before....

£3995,112k miles (nothing to one of these imo) and in beautiful condition from the photo's, better than that 750i in Northwich, which I've seen in the flesh!

Love the Contour seats on that 728 sport - mmmmmm. Still a bit expensive for an old 112k mile E38 though, even if he has spruced it up nicely.

That's the trouble with cars like this, priced according to condition etc and arguably well worth it, once it's dirty though and another owner on the V5, it's straight back to sub £2k money in realistic value....

Long term prospect, perhaps, short term though, your just throwing away £2k+

Pretty much sums up my roundabout thoughts over the past week or so. Yes its beautiful, but when its dirty and needs a new set of tyres its just going to be another old E38. But then its so nice...

At any rate I would rather a 6k top end E38, than a high mile E65. Mainly because I hate the E65.
