I have a PC here with an old AMD Phenom X4 9650. I was wondering what this CPU is like and if it is still any good? Whats it like compared to say a Q6600? Also can it still stand up against today's games and is it a good overclocker? I'm getting 45 degrees under prime95 with the stock cooler.

Okay, I have this PC for my actual use but I just built it out of spare and if I can get the OEM copy of Windows 7 it came with working should be able to pass it onto someone. Any idea about overclocking it?

Phenom I chips are the worst quad core CPU's. Q6600 is a better chip as it has better OC ability and higher IPC.

Original phenoms did not overclock well at all. It will play todays games although im not sure it would fare well in 64 player BF3 or other CPU demanding scenarios.
