Old amplifier + new speakers

OK so I have an old amp that I want to use with some old (yet relatively new/modern) hi-fi speakers (the speakers that we had for the amp previously have now broken). On the back of the amp, there are 4 speaker outputs, 2 left, and 2 right, each with a + and - bit. The speakers come with a phono cable for the main part of the speaker, and a bare bit of wire for the subwoofer. I have posted pictures to clarify my meaning. Could anyone give me basic instructions as to what I need to buy and do to get these two working together.

cut off the phono connecter from the speaker and connect to the amp! But i suggest, as did Matblack to get some diff speakers.

Recently i purchased these :)

JBL Control ONE - cost £49.99, 59.99 online ;) also with some free headphones :)

I would not go back to the Aiwa speakers that i originally had, which sounded very tiny. Even though they are only powered by 18w hifi amp (speakers are 100w) they are still loud! The bass is not best but still very good, doesnt bother me with 2 x 15" bins under the bed :p

Hope this can help abit,
Mark

Think I may aswell try cutting off the phono connector, even if it is a temporary measure. How easy would it be to put a phono connector back on in the future? Also I was confused by the fact that on the back of the speaker it says "Front Speaker (High Frequency): Impedance 8 ohms, Back Speaker (Low Frequency): Impedance 4 ohms" but on the amp it says "Caution: Rated Speaker Impedance 8 ohms". Does that mean I can only use the high frequency bit with the amp?

the speakers are bi-amp by the looks of it

meaning high frequency input and a low frequency input. Not sure wether you can use them with the amp though

Nice Classic speakers there MarkLP , how do they sound?

Very nice, before the top end on the aiwa speakers, that came with my hifi, sounded very tinny. But these have a warmer sound to them, the mix between top and mid is perfect. Would like seperates but having just got a moped, its deffo a no go!!
