old Arcade driving game id?

i'm trying to remeber the name of an old arcade game
i'm sure it would be an 80's release.

you were in a kind of dirt buggy, it was a vertical scroller. you weren't racing iirc, more shooting and avoiding enemies. i think you could exit the vehicle too and then run desperately to get in another.

sorry i've little to go on, any ideas (maybe one for the oldies on here

Nah, doesn't sound like spy Hunter, you never actually left the vehicle.

i seem to remember a NES game that sounds similar to that

scroller type gameplay where you had a buggy/tank type thing that was able to jump i think (maybe thinking of a diff game for that part lol) but you could get out and climb ladders and stuff

i asked on klov and someone suggested spyhunter but that's not it.
i really can't glean any more info from my memory. actually come to think of it, it may not have been purely vertical scrolling, i think you could maybe drive around anywhere you liked, up, down, sideways.

it was a super game. i remember it being really adventurous. i only ever saw it in one place though, a video store that had a room converted for arcade machines. the venture only lasted about a year though but he had some great games in that time

I'm getting vague memories of others now, which i can't remember the name of

EDIT: someone on klov just suggested Speed Rumbler (aka Rush and Crash) and thats it!

that was a well good game, anyone else remember it?
