Planning on upgrading my old workstation which is running in a CoolerMaster 201 case, however am concerned that the newer types of CPU coolers especially the taller ones will fit ok.

Anyone fitted a mahoosive cooler like a Tuniq Tower, Scythe Ninja or Thermalright Ultra 120 in a CM201?

Cheers

Biffa, i've looked into this and an Enzotech Ultra should fit. Got a CM201 myself and am looking to upgrade from the OLD skool DFI infinity, AMD XP-M1600, 1gb BH5 i still run to this day (admittedly now with 2.8tb of hd)

The enzotech is more traditionally shaped, its hsf is across the motherboard rather than at 90 degrees to it, like the heatsinks we used back in the day :D

at 196mm wide - with tray, stand off and socket.... ~150 clearance (might be worth measuring it) so all the 120 fan towers are out.

the thermalright 90i (mini tower) or TR 128, Ex'tec ultra, Scythe Zipang (flat bed) offer better solutions.
also the old school, big typhon with the right fan is still an option

The ninja at 150mm might just fit

I've a 201 :D

Ninja JUST fits, the bolts on the top go into the recess the window makes, if that makes sense, theres like mm of clearance.

Keep it, these cases rock :) 5v 80mm fans = silent and plenty for case ventilation.

Im running 5v yate loons, ninja passively (case fan behind pulls air through) and a passive Arctic Cooling Accelero S2 VGA Cooler
