Hi everyone, I just had a moment of nostalgia and I hope someone can help me. We had this Casio keyboard back in the early 90s or so which had a few demo tracks that would play at a touch of a button. I'm pretty sure it was Casio, or maybe Yamaha? It was basic, but my dad would get it out for us everytime my cousins were out.

Now I've never learned to play the piano, which is a shame, but I had so much fun with it. There's one thing that will haunt me forever unless I can find it again. I can only remember one track and I can only hum the beginning of it but it then goes into Fur Elise. And that's all I can remember from almost 20 years ago!

I know it's a long shot but I don't suppose anyone could help ID some models or the track somewhere online so I can listen to it again. I remember it came in a blue cardboard box. Many thanks!

I would say that 99% of cheap Casio & Yamaha models during the 90s had Fur Elise on it so good luck.
In fact my nephew bought a Yamaha at Christmas and that had got Fur Elise on it.

This is the one I used to have:

I remember pretending to play that when I was about 10, and my Nan falling for it hook line and sinker. I will never forget the look of disappointment on her face when she realised her grandson wasn't an idiot savant, just an idiot.

Oh well, doesn't look like I'll ever find out online due to the amount of Casio models out there lol. The only way I'll know is if I find a Casio keyboard history expert and sing the tune to him.

It's not Fur Elise he's after, Dimp - it's the one that plays before it :)

I'll go with "Hungarian Folk Dance" ^_^

Mate you just made me dust off my old keyboard, and I want to thank you for that. I've always said I'll start learning tomorrow, I've been saying that for years. So now I can put it to good use.

Also most keyboard will have fur elise, my one does

It's a Yamaha EZ-150, with those cool DJ sounds that sound like someone is constipated.

My keyboard was the Yamaha PSR27. Bought it in 1990 and still have it, 22 years on. BBC Micro is 31 years old and still works. Yet why do current machines/PCs of this age only last a few years?

Haha, I had that exact keyboard too!

Reading this thread made me search for the keyboards we used to use at school and I found this video of it

I've not heard these for about 15 years but surprisingly can still remember a lot of it

Same one I had too. :D

Sound quality on it's built-in speaker was awful.
