Dreamcast is a great console and is worth buying just so you can play Shenmue 1 + 2 and Crazy Taxi
Agreed. The Dreamcast was a brilliant console. Shenmue and Manhunter spring to mind. It's been so long since I stupidly traded it all in, I've forgotten most of the great games I had for it.
The xbox 360 and it's backward compatibility has been my only gripe with it. I popped in Burnout Revenge expecting it to work, no dice. Turns out it's being sold on XBL. Stranger's Wrath, again, I was surprised it didn't work, and with that coming to Steam soonish, I expect it will be on XBL. So I've got my bombproof Xbox sitting under the tv taking up space for those few games.

I loved Bangai-O, Power Stone, Skies of Arcadia and Phantasy Star online as well.

I'll second Dreamcast - just bought one from Roger on here, ruddy fantastic. Already on the second Disc of Shenmue and I only started this afternoon

I envy you! First playthrough of the Shenmue games was just amazing.
Fortunately I recently picked up a Dreamcast and I will be replaying both games when I get around to buying them. Definitely gonna play through them during the summer break!

My 8 and 6 year olds still play the PS2 quite a bit. There's a massive back catalogue of good games and they're cheap as chips (as are the accessories).
A while back I picked up a modded Xbox and put a bunch of games on the hard-drive but the kids are really only interested in the PS2. But that's just me...
