Old drivers

The drivers that really annoy me are the drivers that drive well under the speed limit and they still brake at every bend, THEY EVEN BRAKE WHEN THEY ARE GOING AROUND A CORNER THATS GOING UP HILL!!!!!!!

Honestly I don't think they do see you sometimes!

Yesterday i was turning right on a mini roundabout, i was almost across the entrance of the left hand land, when this codger without even looking left just drove straight onto the roundabout in front of me, and he kept his eyes firmly forward as he drove straight across the roundabout.

Its a good job i am the worlds greatest van driver and was able to take avoiding action, or i would have wiped him clean out.
Shame the avoiding action cost the lives of some expensive bottles of wine that were due to be delivered to a hotel in mablethorpe.

You cheeky load of young Bs. Not all of us oldies drive slow. Just got back from Francem drove from Strazberg to south of Paris & averaged 52mph & only used a motorway for about 10 miles. But I do agree some of us need a retest

66 on July 1st (I think that's right, I'll have to ask the wife) Drive a chipped Scenic diesel with big fat wheels, had to get something a bit higher as the old knees are not what they used to be.

Oh yes, remembered something else. Something i've not seen before.

Was following an old woman who was driving a Focus. She was just touching the grass/embankment on the side of the road on every corner and when we got to a road before it goes into a 30mph zone she had her foot on the brakes just so the lights came on but not actually slowing down, and then when she got to the actual 30mph sign she'd press the brakes hard!

What an idiot!

I have to brake for corners when going uphill

I hadnt driven a normal car for a while recently until I test drove my mothers new mk3 1.4 clio (only fractionaly faster than her old 1.2 due to the weight, but suprisingly better handling - though still appaulingly pogo like). This same thing happens every so often when I get back behind the wheel of a 'normal' car.

I suddenly remember again why people are so slow on nsl roads. They have slow cars.

I don't think that's the whole story really - I had a 1.4 Astra, not a speed demon, and I would drive at an appropriate speed :)

But when you are already going way below the speed limit?

What is an NSL road? Does it stand for No Speed Limit

People who go 35/40mph on NSL roads really annoy me! Especially when they also break for every slight bend in the road, heh.

Hey their bones are old and fragile the cornering forces will break them..

;)

You didn't cover this when learning to drive.

I dread to think what other basic road rules you don't understand.

It stands for national speed limit. On a single carriageway road this means means 60mph or on a dual carriageway road it means 70mph. Its represented by a white circular sign with a thick black line running diagonally through it from top right to bottom left.

O/T some old people don't have a clue just like everybody else. So to tar them all with the same brush is wrong IMO.

Indeed. There's no age requirement when it comes to bad drivers :/
