Old game, can't remember name

Top down view.

You have a squad of mercenaries and you go to islands and try to capture them.

Turn based and your guys have stats and you can pick up and modify item etc.

I think the islands are used form drug growing or something.

Excellent game, you really should try the sequel if you haven't. Jagged Alliance 2 with the Unfinished Business addon is now on Steam. I bought it the other day and spent a solid 3 days completing the (short) addon. Still just as good as it ever was, makes a lot of modern games look poop.

I'm looking for similar games - but there's nothing out there

Classic. How they ever got away with that I don't know.

Remember the issue of "One Amiga" (or was it Amiga Format?) with the black cover and red poppy on that they banned? Or am I thinking about the game box?

has to be one of the best game songs ive ever heard, i have such fond memories of playing it on my amiga 1200.

Will have to try and find a PC version.
