Old games that are still good today

System Shock2 is sooo good that I actually played the original after completing it. The original is worth a go if you can find it, I found it in a thrift shop on about 10 floppies :D. Deus Ex is my all time fav game.

Tetris on the DS sucks my life away to the point where I'm scared to pick it up...sad but who cares lol.

Speedball2 for the win :) My bro sometimes watches and gets nearly as excited as when he is watching match of the day
It's even better these days as I can play it using a decent controller.

Other than that Theme Hospital or Rollercoaster Tycoon
Also I only recently stopped playing Civ2

FF7, 8 and 9! :)
I'm starting to wonder if FF 1-6 count as older than 7+ since they didn't appear on this continent until after 9 came out. Actually 3 still hasn't (it's also being extensively remade so I guess that wouldn't count anyway).

My favourite games over the years are as followed;

Might & Magic VI: Mandate of Heaven
Soldier of Fortune
Alfred the Chicken
Fire & Ice
Rainbow Island
Mario Based Games
DX Ball
Zool
GTA III, GTA II
Counter-Strike 1.6 (CSS kinda ruled it out, plus with the added hackers)

Ravensheild is the oldest game on my PC and also the second thing I installed.

Strange that one of my only concerns about going to Vista is that i know RvS wont install on a 64bit OS.

How big is the RvS community still?

Use to play it quite a lot when it came out and was awesome at the time especially since GR servers I normally played on were starting to go down. Would love to play it online again.

Speaking of GR; does anyone know where to play that online with decently server populations?

I'm replaying Final Fantasy 7, slowly, just a few hours a week tops-still fantastic.

Master of Orion 2 as mentioned, still ace. Star Trek: Birth of the Federations, not quite ace but I still reinstall from time to time- it's MOO2 with Star Trek on top, and less good combat. The race modelling's crude but good- Klingons are always gutted if you make peace with an enemy, even if you're beign hammered, some of the minor races immediately capitulate if you declare war on them, the Federation get upset if you carpet bomb a planet... Basic, but quite effective. Plus, Klingons. And the Borg, who no matter when they turn up will entirely kick your ass.

Transport Tycoon Deluxe... Need to get that new version, I've heard about it but never got round to installing. The original (and the Deluxe) were brilliant despite the bugs and the overall pointlessness.

I might reinstall Mechwarrior 2: Merceneries soon, it was great... And Mechcommander, for that matter, dated now but still cool. I remember when I got MW2:Mercs, I had a P75 with 8mb of ram and we had to upgrade to run it. Feel the awesome power!

The original Homeworld's quite old now as well, and still stunningly good.
