My old primary hard drive died, however it had a password saved on firefox that i cannot remember.

Where would the password be located, if i can view the hard drive as a slave drive?

Thanks

I don't know if it's the only way to do it, but you can do it this way: Find you profile folder located at oldharddisk:\Documents and Settings\rossyl\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ Copy it. Navigate to to your new profile. Change the name from something like he3puqjs.default to something like he3puqjs.default.new. Paste the copied profile folder. Change its name to the former name of your new profile, he3puqjs.default in this example. Start Firefox and recover your passwords. When you're done delete the old profile and restore the name of the new one.

Your passwords are stored in Signons3.txt, and encrypted with a key stored in key3.db (in the same folder as Billy said).

If you copy both (and you need both) those files into your new profile (%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profile\[random text].[profile name], you should be able to access all the saved passwords.

It might be called signons2.txt/key2.db, the same principle applies.
