I wan to connect the hard drive from my old rig to my new one so I can grab some files I had on it. Is there any sort of device I can use to do this, I heard that you can buy some sort of cradle?

Sorry the vagueness of the thread as I am not sure how to go about this. Please feel free to move this if im in the wrong area for this question as well.

You can get a USB to IDE/SATA adapter which enables you to just connect it in there temporarily or if you will use it more often, then a caddy would be better which does the same job but means you put the drive inside the case to keep it safe.

The one I use is like the one below, which accepts ide 2.5 and 3.5 drives and sata.

Being USB2 they will transfer quite slow, so if you have a lot of data it would be quicker to just plug the HD directly into the new system and copy off direct.

If it's IDE, the above. There are several variations but the all do the same job.

If it's SATA, the above still as they're dual IDE/SATA, or a 'docking station' (OcUK sell a couple of those).
