Old iMac, what should i use it for?

Hi all,

As the thread title suggests, i have an old iMac with no need for it. I am trying to find a way of re purposing it.

Current ideas:
Plex Media Server (Currently use PC in signature so this would free it up).
Kitchen PC/TV of some sort?

iMac 21.5"
Core i5 2.7Ghz
Late 2013
8GB RAM
1TB HDD

Sell it, and spend the proceeds on something dedicated to something, rather than wasting an iMac as a TV.

Thanks for your suggestions. I don't think i'd get much money for it second hand to replace it with something else, so would like to find a new use for it. I am thinking Plex is my best option, just need to work out in transcoding is going to be a problem.

For the sake of a TV dongle , it would.make a ok TV.

Macs hold their value well. Still worth £300-400 most likely.

I'd suggest selling it and then either using the money that you got from that to save towards a new rig (if you don't have one) or upgrading your existing components. I recommend selling on eBay as generally, Apple products keep their value well on the platform...
