Old Mans Rant - original bands doing cover versions

A few good covers by fairly young bands (member wise young-ish at least)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=TWo5lechUgY - Burn in Hell, cover of Twisted Sister by Dimmu Borgir (Song really kicks in around 1 min in)
*** Ignore the video on that btw, just hear the music. ^^^^

http://youtube.com/watch?v=L-fWWJUtd-c - Oops I Did It Again - Britney Spears cover by Children of Bodom (Was made for joke purposes)

Can't find many of the covers on youtube, "Silent Scream" by Slayer was covered by Bodom too and is very good.

That's more like it. It's the first guitar after the drum intro that I was thinking of. Don't really like that heavy guitar that comes in after.

Thats me you fool :D
It was to show you I was playing the correct riff while playing along with Jimmy.

I'm LOL'ing at myself here.

I didn't realise you were playing over Zep. I thought that was your band playing the opening drum and guitar parts with you coming in to thicken the sound.

I stand by my original criticism, but now I know the reason: You're playing fewer notes than the original riff.

I think you're on about the overdub at the end of each riff which Page tries to play live sometimes but loses the riff.

|-0--0--4--0--0----0--3'-|-(3)-0--0--0--0--0--0--0--|

Right at the end of the number 3 there is an overdub that isn't easy for one guitarist to play and keep the riff going.
So yes there are more notes but done by two guitars.

Counting the notes out on my fingers it's the 8th note in that's missing.

Excuse my layman's method but I'm not a musician.

The CoB covers are just plain terrible really. They've gone down hill massively in recent years imo.
Silent Scream was a pretty good cover and I think Bodom are doing okay.

Are You Dead Yet? wasn't the best album though.

Need more songs like the ones on the Hatebreeder album, there finest album imo.
