upgraded to a 27" 144HZ 2K screen

Now my old 10 year old Dell 22" is worthless and not in use, i don't suppose i could game with it perhaps? not sure what else to do with it really

Maybe not keeping it in USE, but I would recommend keeping it, nevertheless. With the recent QC issues of new monitors, there is a tangible possibility that your new monitor might exhibit some sort of flaw, and in case you have to exchange it or return it, you'll now have a backup monitor.

Well, depending on your current free space allocation, naturally. If there is space in the storage, why not keep it? Your 22" isn't worth much, anyway, so not much benefit in selling it, either.

storage is another issue, i cant store it anywhere, and i have a laptop as a backup if i need to order/exchange my monitor

hmm

Am kind of have the same problem as you..

I Got an old Asus PG278Q ROG Swift 27" that been sitting in my loft for the last 12 months after I upgraded to an Asus PG348Q ROG Swift 34" 3440x1440
And am not sure if the PG278Q is even worth selling with the hassle of trying to post it and what money I most likely get for it..

im sure thats worth a lot more than my 22" !
is that 27" 144HZ?

I still use a crappy 17" cheap-as-chips LCD for my headless server under the stairs, on the odd occasion that I need to administer it locally.

My problem is that I live in Guernsey, channel islands and postage and VAT when selling can be a nightmare..
I have to pay VAT on anything I sell and ship to the UK mainland

Plus it can be very expensive if the buyer not happy and wants to return it..

Ah, that's that then. I just assumed as it was a Dell from that era that it would have a rotating stand.

I would never consider a second monitor worthless... even if I was (still) a heavy gamer, I'd find uses for it with strategy guides and voice chat. When playing casually, use it for a youtube banter channel. When working, it's useful to be able to keep track of multiple applications without having to flick between them :)

you've given me an idea

is it possible to play a game full screen on the 27" and over on the 22" have the windows desktop so i could search on the internet or pull up a document whilst playing ?

Absolutely, I do this with three screens; 24 in the middle and a couple of 17s at the side for symmetry. Just enough to keep wikis or teamspeak or youtube running :) (Yeah, I'd like a bigger centre screen, but I'm just not convinced by this year's crop of monitors, tbh.)

Depends what you mean by "full screen". Borderless window would work fine but true full screen would still make most games minimise when you alt-tab, which makes it pretty pointless IMO.

To be fair, you're not wrong with this :) But nothing in my library can't do borderless windowed, so I've probably just forgotten the distinction ^^;

I used to use borderless window with some games but since I now use FreeSync, it works a lot better in fullscreen mode. Waiting a few seconds to switch to windowed mode and alt-tab whilst searching for a game, then doing the reverse afterwards is certainly annoying.
