Hello, Right now I have a pc with a i5-3470 with a gtx 770x and 8gb ddr3 ram.
A friend of mine offered me a deal on his 5 year old I7 4770k + z87 asus maximus formula vi for ~180£
Should i go for that or with the same money buy a new gpu?(prolly a gtx 1650 or 1060?)
Wich would give me a bigger boost in performance? a new cpu or a new gpu, considering I game on 1080p. Mostly CSGO,Overwatch,Rainbow Six,Apex.
Thank You!

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £119.89 (includes shipping: £9.90)

Personally I would get one of these and maybe some more ram. Good deal quicker than the 1650 and just a hair behind the 1060 3gb and comes with a couple free games at the moment.

That i7 isn't bad, but you're likely to be gpu limited, so the i7 would allow more head room, but until you upgrade your graphics card you won't really see much of a boost

Totally agreed with this. The i7 4770k is not bad but it can't be just the cpu and mobo alone. At £180 is bit too much for a i5 3470 to i7 3770k "upgrade", unless you sell the old or unwanted parts. Priority is the GPU and if you have money to spare then the cpu of which a i7 3770k (if your mobo can OC) for about £100

seems RB-S is CPU bound- as well as having the CPU 100% usage bug !

going i7 4c/8t might help a little but firstly FPS increase will come from the GPU upgrade, then you'd be looking into CPU upgrade .

keep eye out on Ryzen 3600 - maybe paired with b450 board .

check CPU usage now with your games, and then with GPU upgrade . first should notice FPS increase, but if you notice CPU usage has increased or at 100% constantly then time to think about the CPU
