Hey OC'ers!
I recently bought a new monitor and absolutely love it.
The problem is this:
Every now and then, my screen will turn off and come back on - almost like something was disconnected.
My NEW monitor (LG IPS234V) is connected via DVI, and my old one (ASUS PW201) WAS connected via VGA (with a VGA to DVI switch). So that eliminates wire/adapter conflicts.
I actually bought the new monitor for my new rig I'm setting up, however before I give my old PC to my mum, I want to clear something up. I will be giving my old monitor + my old PC to my mum.
I think it all started when I installed W7 on it, over XP Pro (FYI: I will be putting my old PC back on XP Pro, as it ran perfectly + I need the W7 key for myself on my new PC build)
I now have this problem, and I'm trying to figure out what's the problem.
Fan on GFX still works.
I suspect it was drivers with my old monitor, but it can't be that, as I have a new monitor.
So I'm thinking it has to do with GFX drivers/compatibility of a 5yr old or so GFX with a relatively newer OS.
Or it could be the GFX is dying.
Any input would be appreciated
