Just come home to fix sisters comp which is running my old abit an7 board with a xp3200 (not overclocked) and temps are being reported at 60 degrees idle. It has a zalman copper flower cooler on it. I remember the abit boards reporting high temps but dont remember this high. Room temp is high at 24 degrees and bios is newest one. Whats max temp for xp cpus and how high do abit over report temps?

Well on my Abit motherboard, my XP 3200 idles at around 45c with a Thermaltake volcano 11. At load they hit about 55c.. but thats with the supplied monitor.. i havnt checked bios at all

That sounds bit reassuring as your cooler is better than my sisters and your not having to use your comp in a room simulating an oven (24 degrees). Its idling at 56 at the moment and load at 63 load so dont think thats too bad. From what i remember the old abit boards add 15 degrees to the cpu temps - somone confirm thou please

Well about the oven thing.. my room is at 25c at the moment.. (acording to my alarm clock).. and cpu temp is at 46c :)
