Have been looking at buying an imac for use with Elements 10 & Lightroom 4.
It is the 24inch white plastic model with a 2.1ghz processor, 3 gig ram OSX Lion. It wont be used for much else and no demanding tasks.

It is in near mint condition and faultless working order with an asking price of less than £400 so is it worth getting or should i stay well clear.

Thanks

I really wouldn't bother on an iMac of that age. It's going to be slow and at £400 it's not that cheap.

Better off getting a newer Mac mini IMO.

Yeah I'd either get a Mac Mini or a slightly older iMac, my mate has a 27 inch iMac and he's saying it's only worth about £800-900, think it's a late 2010 model.

Definitely Mac mini (no point getting the iMac if you don't need the display). A bottom end mini with some more memory (8GB) and an SSD if you really want it.

That said, why not spend the money on upgrading your current system and running both applications on Windows instead?

This!

System in your sig is still decent. Lightroom and Elements work exactly the same on OSX and Windows and are quite hardware demanding. They'd run miles better on your system than on that iMac.
