Using my old Core 2 Duo machine to shift info around since I got 2 new drives and its giving me grief, the usual 1 beep then 3 beeps and no display. Tried another GPU with no luck, same result and switching memory around presents the same.

was hoping this old system would last til I managed to upgrade my PC but apparently not, any ideas?

Edit

Pulling cmos battery seems to have got it working but nothing in event viewer since before all this started which is concerning, also PITA trying to get bios stuff sorted as I think the HDMI port on my monitor has always been naff as before it gets to windows its kinda green pixelated etc and flickering on and off til windows logo loads then its all fine.

Hopefully it all holds out til I fully back everything up I need to then I got some breathing room.

Switched it off and on multiple times since and its been fine, P5QL-E Motherboard suggests VGA issue (no onboard vga) but tried another GPU got same 1+3 beeps but currently as I mentioned after CMOS battery removal and re-insertion of same battery its been turning on and off with the standard 1 beep.

One Beep followed by three beeps = No VGA detected according to manual, not changed any bios settings since it was last used and battery is still fine otherwise it would be giving me hassle still.

Still clueless as to what happened lol

That old board pretty much requires new "BIOS"/CMOS battery, unless it has been powered most of the years.
