I'm thinking of getting tickets for the England vs Argentine Rugby match in June, which is at Old Trafford.

No idea if it will be a sell out or not, but what works well for getting to/from the ground? I did think about parking at Altrincham and getting the Metro Link. Are the queues post match silly big? Is there much car parking around the ground?

I'm used to waiting to get the train back from Twickenham on match days, so appreciate you can't avoid waiting all the time.

Cheers,
Chris.

There is plenty of parking around old trafford if you are willing to walk 10+ mins.

The tram from Altrincham is probably your best bet. I get the tram from town and the altrincham line is always fairly quiet compared to the one into the city centre, after the games. So you should have no problem getting back to altrincham.

Ive been to Old Trafford when it was the 2008 Rugby League Grand Final.

With a short walk you can get the metro to the main station after the game, It was busy when we went but we got through very fast.

Plenty of parking if you don't mind about a mile walk, which is nothing. Can often take ~30mins to get moving properly after you get to your car, but its not too bad really.

I've been up to Old Trafford a lot of times.

Parking and getting to the ground was never a problem, You can park 10-15 minutes walk away no problem, you can also look to try and park near the cricket ground, which is only down the road really.

The metro might be busy, I however have only being in a car / bus :)

Park at the Cricket Ground or over near the Hovis building near the Imperial War Museum as most have match day secure parking for £5 - about a 10 min walk.

Loads of places to park near the ground for £5/£10 just drive near it and you'll see signs everywhere.
