Hello,
I have noticed that most new modern mouther boards do not have old pci slot for legacy cards, as they all have pci -e verion 2 or 3?
Can anyone tell me if the Asus 170 and 270 series has pci slot as I need to use my existing pro audio card for recording?

i dont think any motherboards have pci slots now. All pcie, you would have to look for something older like AM3 and FM2.. wouldnt it be better to look for a new sound card
I wanted to use my original pro audio soundcard as it has a very good on board sound set its the classic Yamaha SW1000XG.
its a real shame todays motherboards do not support legacy hardware.

Wow thanks, I just baffled why I could not find this my self. Thanks very much for your help guys, really appreciated .
Just one more thing are these mother boards any good for home office work and music production studio hence I will be making music and recording using software?

There may another option that came to mind, and that's to use PCIE to pci adaptors on the slots for audio cards?

ASUS website gives you ALL the info. All you had to do was look at the spec of the motherboards and the pictures show the slots too so you can SEE which ones have PCI or PCIE slots.

Just about any motherboard will suit your purpose.

I found these but not sure what the pros and cons are between. I need PCI slots, and a pc for music production, home office use and come to think of it occasional CAD but at least capable of it.
