Looking for the oldest/cheapest GPU that can support 3440x1440. Obviously won't be gaming.
Need something cheap to stick in there while I find a new GPU

I've stuck an old 9500GT in it and it loaded into windows. I uninstalled AMD stuff and restarted the PC.

On restart it detected the cars and installed drivers automatically. Since then I've go no display. I'm pretty certain the PC is booted.

I assumed the resolution isn't supported, or the card is too old for the system perhaps?

Might be worth a bios update to your motherboard usually if a video card is not recognised, windows will use compatibility drivers and run at a very low res

Your issue is more likely to be the oldest card that Windows will detect. I found out to my cost that the 7850 and a 750ti aren't detected by a modern, clean windows install.

You can get around by installing 1509 or a similar era OS, but it's a pain.

I don't want to muck about with windows. It was a clean install last month. Perhaps I'll just have to wait until I find a card
