Hi,

Does anyone remember those games where the charachter would get in a sticky situation. Then you had to like tie the bedsheets together, tie it to radiator and climb out the window etc. You could pick up items and add them together / use them on stuff to figure out how to progress.

I'm not explaining very well... somebody must know what i'm talking about.

I can't remember an examples...

Help me out here!

The Sam & Max episodes are supposed to be pretty good, I'd say it's as close to the old Monkey Island 'vibe' as we'll get these days.

Beneath a Steel Sky, amiga version was awesome, dunno how much better (or worse) the pc version is.

Thats freeware now. I'm playing it on ScummVM... the whole package is on thier website. :)

I've always loved this type of game, most of the good ones,e.g the Lucas Arts adventures are fairly old now but are definitely still worth playing.

There are modern equivalents though,i've recently played Dreamfall which despite mixed reviews really impressed and immersed me,it's the sequel to 'The Longest Journey which was a classic point and click from a while back.

Currently playing 'Still Life' which is in a classic point and click style but with a modern slant on the genre, the game was released in 2004 and seemed to go largely unoticed outside of the hardcore adventure gaming community, if you crave this type of game but don't feel like reverting to age old material then I recommend you give this game a go.

The Syberia series and Farenheit are also worth checking out.
