OLED Information Overload

I'm trying to determine which 32" 4K OLED I want to purchase, to upgrade from my 27" 1440p IPS. I've done a bunch of research and watched a bunch of videos, including the likes of Monitors Unboxed. However, I think I'm suffering information overload and I've lost track as to what I really want and what types of monitors would best suit my needs.

Ultimately, I want my games to look as good as they can in terms of colour gamut, accuracy and refresh rate. This will be paired with a RTX 5080 and I'll be in a room that I can make dark, so ultimate brightness isn't really an issue. I've been leaning towards WOLED monitors, but they don't have the colour gamut of QD-OLED and the new 2026 WOLED appear to have the same brightness issues. The monitor will be used for gaming 90% of the time, so the RGB layout is unlikely to be an issue for met. I am unsure whether the QD-OLED purple tint is something that would irk. The same is for panel dimming, my LG OLED TV dims and I sometimes notice it during content playing, but I don't think I notice that often.

If this new generation of WOLED monitors are similar to QD-OLED monitors in terms of performance, am I best going for QD-OLED instead of new gen WOLED, or going for a previous generation WOLED that uses a non-standard RGB layout?

I'm currently in the same position as you at the moment trying to pick out a 4k OLED monitor for my secondary system, the fact that you don't care about RGB layout and want a good colour gamut the dell Alienware aw3225qf is an obvious choice with it's 240Hz display and the burn-in warranty, placing a light behind the monitor helps with magenta tint but not noticeable in a light controlled room.

I'm currently considering it myself, although I'm a little bit more fussy when it comes text clarity so might be temped to wait for the new Alienware AW3226Q which is supposedly going live on Dells site on the 27th, that's uses the new Tandem WOLED with stripe sub-pixel layout, but lowers the refresh rate to 165Hz, but very aggressively priced at £649.

Thanks for your reply. The Dell Alienware AW3226Q is now live and I've also seen the Asus XG32UCWMG available new for about 10% more, which from my understanding, is the last generation WOLED with a non-RGB stripe layout, but better brightness, blacks and colours. The 165Hz vs 240Hz is my biggest question at the moment, but am I likely to even get to 165Hz, even with frame generation? Probably unlikely.

Choice paralysis is real! A monitor like this will likely outlive the rest of my system (and possibly the next), so I want to make sure I'm purchasing the right monitor for what I want.
