If you want the latest and greatest then check out the MSI MAG 272QP X50 review below.

Just do some research on the differences between QD-OLED panels and WOLED panels first to see which suits you needs and environment you are working in.

I have zero burn in on my 2 OLED monitors one QD-OLED and one WOLED panel. it's become less and less of an issue.
Some models come with a 3 year screen burn warranty.

Not really no, I have been using one for nearly 2 years now most days and I have done the usual sensible things, like set the task bar to hidden, set dark mode wherever I can and windows will blank the monitor if I don't touch the mouse of keyboard for 5 minutes but beyond that I haven't changed what I do to try and avoid burn in as such, I have just used it normally and I don't see any real evidence of it yet.

If you do everything that you explictly advised not to do with it, and have bright white backgrounds with strongly contrasting static images on it, tool bars and such for long periods of time at high brightness, then yea you would no doubt notice some degradation in the time I have had it, as Hardware unboxed has demonstrated. It depends what you want the main use case of the monitor to be really.

My 2 year old OLED is an Alienware AW3423DW and my current main monitor on my gaming system is my new MSI 321URX which is 4k, 240hz gen 3 OLED and it's very, very nice indeed, also fits within your budget as I paid about 750 squids for it. You can get a 27" version of it for a bit less, although if I was going ot buy a 27" 4K monitor I would be inclined to go with the Asus ROG Strix XG27UCDMG ...mainly for the motion sensor over the MSI model.

It is, but there's so many preventative measures you can take and a good quality OLED will come with 3 year burn in warranty and OLED care software, the tech as come a long way and if you're sensible with your usage you should be fine.

.

Monitors Unboxed runs a burn in experiment. Using an OLED just like a normal IPS, only letting it clean pixels overnight I think

My takeaway is that burn in is not an issue for current gen, for a lifetime of a monitor anyway.

I see that video very good information.

I'm quite lucky that I use my Alienware monitor solely for gaming so it only gets used for a few hours and the content is dynamic.

But what does someone do if they only have one pc and the monitor is their main daily driver for regular desktop usage as well as gaming?

They will suffer from burn in over time I guess.

I use my 32" Philips QD-OLED as WFH screen with laptop and as my main home PC screen. So its on for 14-16h a day
Screen is allowed to turn off after 3 minutes and try to use dark mode everywhere (did that even before OLED)
Not checked for burn in, not worried.
In this MU video after 18 months of literally showing a bright white window on one side, burn in can still only be just detected on enchanced photos of single color patterns

Like me, I burned in my Gigabyte MO34WQC2 in 2025. Yes, I turned on all of the OLED care features.
