OLED Monitor when it doubles up as a work monitor?

Anyone know much about the AOC ultrawide oled? How is the oled care on this model?

Edit: ordered one of these for £544 so will see how it goes

It looks pretty standard specs but no HDMI 2.1, i'm assuming its the 34"?

Not sure if this has burn in warranty?

Shame it matt finish and not glossy, it's a generally held opinion that glossy is better.

Good price, you'll be fine with this, but it would check on the warranty and if it has has anti-burn in protection features.

I have this MSI, which I can't reccomened highly enough, you can get it for about £650 if you decide the AOC is not for you, this has 3 year burn in warrantly, HDMI 2 .1, is 175 HZ, and has all the screen protection gubbins.

Yep, it's the 34 inch ultrawide. Think it uses the same panel as the MSI.

I checked it had a three year burn in warranty and all the oled care features before buying :)

Edit: it's this one https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-...0-175hz-0.03ms-2-hdmi-dp-h-mon-aoc-03328.html

I'm kind of in the same boat but I've made the decision I'll never buy an OLED monitor whilst I work from home most days, it just isn't worth it for me. No matter how long the warranty is, I don't want to be in a position where I'm having to remember to do things or make adjustments just to reduce the chance of burn-in. I just want to be able to use the monitor however I like without worrying about anything.

There's still the issue of text not displaying correctly on OLEDs too. I know the latest models have improved that somewhat, but it's still an issue and not something I want to deal with.

A shame though cause when you're just gaming, immense.

Totally get it, I know VA, IPS etc dont have the bling as OLED does it would be nice if manufacturers had VA / IPS versions available. I'd love a 49 inch ultrawide mini LED.

TBH,I think I prefer matte WOLED over QD-OLED. Way easier to clean and the latter have the worst coating ever. When it comes to punch, matte vs glossy is not really that noticeable unless you have them side by side but QD-OLED is a nightmare to clean in comparison. Even normal glossy OLED is so easy to clean, I just need a dry microfibre cloth for my C2.

How do you clean yours? I found that once you get blue smudges, it's almost impossible to clean them, even with the recommended 70% IPA spray + two microfibre cloths treatment. I have two and while it did get better, they didn't completely disappear, not to mention it seems the coating gets microscratches just from looking at it.

Of course, both the smudges and microscratches aren't noticeable during normal use but it's still a bummer.

I genuinely think 1st gen QD-OLED panels suck in all regards (subpixel layout and thus obvious colour fringing on text, burn-in resistance compared to WOLED, terrible coating, purple tint/raised black levels in brighter rooms due to no polarising layer) except image quality when gaming and, if anyone's looking to buy one, every singe 34" ultrawide qd-oled has the exact same panel, even the 240hz ones are still 1st gen, so just grab the cheapest and ride it out till something better arrives.

Luckily, I got mine for 440 quid with a nice freebie and burn-in coverage so I'll try not to think about the above and use the hell out of it without caring till better tech lands, otherwise I'd go insane over trying to keep it clean and scratch-free.

Well I received my AOC ultrawide oled today and I'm totally blown away by it :)

The image quality is absolutely fantastic and the build quality is excellent.

It utterly smashes my old Samsung VA ultrawide in every way possible.

Is that the same panel as the Philips?

Those are some insanely pretty looking cats!

Edit: Sorry, forgot which sub forum I was on... Monitor looks great too!

And here's mine, free bias lighting courtesy of Philips, don't even have to turn the led strip on:P

I really like this monitor for what I've paid, 440 quid minus 160 quid I recouped from selling my VA ultrawide so the upgrade to qd-oled cost me 280 in total and Philips sent me free headphones:P

By far the best value qd-oled on the market for what you get (and thd headphone promo is still on) but... I still HATE the coating on these things:P

I'm pretty sure all the 34 inch 1440p ultrawide oleds currently on the market are using the same Samsung panel. The specs are almost identical.

That's correct, some are 240hz but still the same 1st gen panel. 32 inch 4ks are 3rd gen with the updated subpixel layout and allegedly higher burn-in resistance but that remains to be seen.

Nice setup and a proper bargain that :)

Is that a live desktop wallpaper?

I’ve used my 48 inch LG OLED C series for work and play (so a lot of time) for 4 years now and it’s still immaculate with no screen burn. Maybe I’m just lucky. I’ve used the black background/minimal desktop approach but other than that nothing else. On the other hand my Pixel 8 is about a year old and it’s got screen burn already.
