I had mine out 10 years ago. Went to bed one night absolutley fine, woke up around 4am in agony, struggled downstairs bent double rang the OOH doctors, who said "Take 2 paracetamol and go back to bed!", woke the other half up around 7am as I was conviced I would be dead soon from the pain I was in, and she rushed me to hospital.
I can remember being seen by the doc around 7.30, after a quick check - lie on side, knees up , VIOLATED! - the other doc came over and said "Poppy juice for you" followed by an injection. Then he came back with an anti-nauseant, injected me and the three of us watched a red inflamation go up my arm into my chest and then slowly spread out ........., "Hmmmm, I think your allergic to that".
Was still in agony half hour later so he came back, checked me over, said "more poppy juice for you" and then I lost the next 8 ish hours.
Got operated on at 8pm, and spent the next 7 days in hospital
