OMG HDTune says 1GB Ocz USB is Faster then my 100GB SATA

I noticed my new notebook was really slow installing TOCA 3 (took nearly 2 hours)

I thought something was dodgy so I ran HDtune and tests speeds reach no higher thn 2.1MegaByte :eek:

my OCZ Rally stick does 15+ easy.

I dont know what it was but I started installing lots of stuff on my new Notebook a few days ago and windows has started to crawl.

any ideas guys

Tried running a Defrag on the drive? Google for Diskeeper, you can get a 30day trial for free and it's pretty good utility.

Apart from that, the only things I can think of are running a Virus scan, checking to see if you've got any Spyware from somewhere, and clearing up some space if you're running low on that drive.

Go to start>Control panel>Administrative tools>Computer Management>Device manager>IDE ATA/Atapi controllers (Or similar), find your disk and make sure its not set to PIO mode.

just deleted the controller and restarted, back to udma 5 now, and 30+ megs

30Mbps still sounds slow, but I suppose its probably because its a notebook harddrive.

It is prolly because of the Starforce copy protection as that installs hidden IDE/SATA drivers :mad:
